Kelly Kimener Named CAA Player of the Week For Second Straight Week

NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion senior Kelly Kimener (Oakton, Va.) was named CAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the second straight, after posting 12 points on the road in two contests. Kimener notched a new career high in goals with six against St. Joseph's, and added four goals and two assists against No. 6 North Carolina.
The ODU senior captain led the Lady Monarchs past the Hawks of St. Joseph's with her career-high six goals, scoring on six of her 11 shots in the game. She scored twice on three free-posiion attempts, grabbed three draw controls and caused one turnover.
Against a nationally ranked North Carolina team on the road, Kimener scored four goals and two assists. She leads the team in all offensive categories, with 24 points, 17 goals and 7 assists. She also has a team-high 15 draw controls.
Kelly was named the CAA Player of the Week last week, after posting 11 points in a pair of games, and earns her second straight honor after another solid performance, with 12 points this week. She had 12 of the Lady Monarchs 28 total points this week and scored a goal on 10 of her 17 shots.
Kimener and the Lady Monarchs host Longwood University (6-3) on Wednesday, March 25 at 4:00 pm.
