From The Desk Of Bobby Wilder: Losing Is Never Easy
Sept. 29, 2009
Thank you for another outstanding performance Saturday night. Our players and coaches greatly appreciate your support and the fact you stuck with us to the end of the game. Losing is never easy. If you are a competitive person, you cannot stand to lose at anything you do. As our program grows, we will learn this lesson.
Our team came in Sunday with a great attitude. They had already decided they did not like the feeling we all had in the locker room after the game. We all went right to work watching the video and growing from the areas we need to improve as a team. Football is the ultimate team sport. All three phases must perform well together for our team to win. Our special teams, our defense, and our offense must work as one during the game.
As we prepare for our next challenge, the Fordham Rams, we will work hard in practice this week on individual improvement in all three phases. Fordham is traditionally a strong program with a rich history of football. Two years ago they were in the FCS. play-offs. Their quarterback, John Skelton, is considered an NFL prospect.
Our goal this week is to take a" Business Trip" to the Bronx and come home with a win. It will take a tremendous effort by our team but one I know we are capable of. We are hopeful that many of our 12th Monarchs will make the trip with us this week!
