NORFOLK, VA (Oct. 28) - The top-ranked Old Dominion field hockey team posted a 2-1 overtime victory over #2 North Carolina on Oct. 28 at Foreman Field on the campus of the Old Dominion University. With the win, Old Dominion improves to 18-1 overall (5-0 CAA) while North Carolina falls to 16-2 overall (4-0 ACC).

Honda Award hopeful Marina DiGiacomo (Mendoza, Argentina) netted both goals for the win, striking first at the 2:55 mark to tie the game and then at the 7:03 mark in overtime on a penalty stroke for the win.

The Lady Monarchs will finish the regular season with a 1 pm game against Temple on Oct. 29. It marks Senior Day for DiGiacomo and Kelly Malinoski.
