Lady Monarchs Tie Radford, 1-1

NORFOLK, VA-The Old Dominion women's soccer team tied Radford, 1-1, at the ODU Soccer Stadium Saturday afternoon in the last game of the season. The tie moves the Lady Monarchs record to 3-9-5 overall for the season and 2-5-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association, CAA. Radford moves to 8-7-3 overall. Fifteen of the Lady Monarchs 17 matches were decided by one goal or less.
The Highlanders got started off to an early lead in the first half when Sarah Rutherford scored on a penalty kick in the 14th minute that netted in the lower-left corner of the goal. Radford goalkeeper Annaliese Yoder recorded one save in the half. ODU junior goalkeeper Kristen Bailey (Hamilton, VA) had her lone save for the match in the first half.
In the second half, the Lady Monarchs bounced back by attacking the Highlanders defense. Junior forward Ashley Kramer (Jefferson Hills, PA) came off the bench to score the tying goal with eight minutes to play when she received a pass in traffic from Diane Baucom (Virginia Beach, VA). The goal Kramer's second of the year while Baucom finished the season with three assists. Both teams failed to score in both overtimes and battled to a 1-1 tie.
The Lady Monarchs outshot Radford, 20-12, for the contest. Yoder finished with seven saves for the match for the visiting team. The Lady Monarchs are 2-2-2 in their last six contests with Bailey in the net.
