Monarchs Host W&M Thursday Night

The ODU Monarchs (16-7/9-4) play host to the Tribe of William and Mary (7-14/ 2-10) Thursday night in a CAA contest at 7 p.m. in the Constant Convocation Center. William and Mary is led by freshman Calvin Baker who was named CAA Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this year. ODU has sold out three home games this season and are 7,007 per game (6968 in CAA games).

Series: ODU leads 53-14
First Meeting: 1968-69, ODU wins, 80-65 in Williamsburg.
Last Meeting: ODU defeated the Tribe, 65-56 back on Jan.21 in Williamsburg. W&M led by five (30-25) at halftime, and by as much as seven (32-25) early in the second half. ODU took the lead for good with 6:55 left at 48-46 on two free throws by Abdi Lindonde. Isaiah Hunter led with 22, while Loughton had 12 and nine rebounds with Vasylius adding 11 points. Laimis Kisielius led W&M with 16, while Nathan Mann came off the bench to score 14. ODU had 19 turnovers and W&M 16.

ODU shot .563 from the floor and six players scored in double figures In the 87-69 victory over James Madison. Arnaud Dahi and Drew Williamson each scored 14. Valdas Vasylius added 13 points and a game high eight rebounds. John Morris came off the bench to scored a career high tying 12 points.).

Senior Isaiah Hunter became the 41st Monarch to break the 1,000 career point mark. He did it in the first half of the VMI game and now has 1278 career points (ranks 22th).Hunter is recovering from a stress fracture in his right foot and is listed day-to day. Alex Loughton has 1492 career points and 853 career rebounds. He currently ranks 15th . In rebounding, Loughton ranks 9th.
