Charlotte Head Coach Katie Meier
"Give credit to Old Dominion, they should a tremendous amount of courage after we took the lead. We were fatigued. We're usually a feisty, scratchy bunch, but we needed to go to the next level and dig deeper."
"We spent all of our energy pressing, trying to get the lead, and we bailed out on our offense. We played hopeful instead of determined. We can't do that in an away contest against a team like Old Dominion."
"The bench gave them some great minutes. It was strategic and it worked to their advantage. But I think we're a good team, but we have some kinks to work out. Our pressure gave them fits, but that's not enough."
"I give her (Monique Coker) credit. In the Colorado film, she didn't look very conditioned. I didn't expect her to play 38 minutes of tough basketball. She probably woke up during Penn State and realized it was time for her to rise up."
Senior forward Monique Coker
On her 1,000th career point:
"It feels good. I never thought about it. I just go out and play. It feels good to be apart of an elite group."
Senior guard Myriah Spence
"It was frustrating that we let them back in the game, but we answered back. We defeated ourselves when we let them back in the game with turnovers. It was frustrating."
Old Dominion Head Coach Wendy Larry
"I think we play like we practice. I felt like our focus going into the Penn State game was different for the Charlotte game. It was indicative of how we didn't take care of the ball and we really didn't hit the offensive glass. Preparation has a lot to do with your performance."
"We'll get better as the season goes on, but we have to go to a very difficult place to play at Virginia Tech and we only have two days to prepare and change the things that we didn't do well. We have to be ready to come in focused tomorrow (in practice) to improve."
"Poise is going to be huge. They (Virginia Tech) have a tremendous post player and swing player. But we know it's a difficult place to play. It's very difficult to play on the road, but you have to be warriors."
"We did a great job taking away the 3-ball. They all can come out and shoot it. We took away half of their offense. Old Dominion will never be that type of team. We want to get into the paint and score and play inside-out."
