Lady Monarchs Close Out Regular Season Play At Home This Week

NORFOLK, VA - Old Dominion closes out regular season play this week with a pair of CAA conference games at home. The Lady Monarchs will host George Mason on October 27, at 7:00pm, before welcoming Towson October 29 at 1:00pm.
The Lady Monarchs' losing skid reached four last week with a 2-1 setback at VCU and 1-0 defeat at James Madison. All four of the losses have been by one goal and three have been by 1-0 scores. ODU fell behind VCU 2-0 before senior forward Laura Beeman (Chalfont, PA) scored her league-leading 13th goal of the season in the 42nd minute. Beeman, who also tops the CAA in points (29) and shots (67) is now second in the ODU record books for career goals with 34 and third in career points with 70. Freshman goalkeeper Colby Owen (Virginia Beach, VA) made 11 saves at VCU last Friday.
Old Dominion is currently ranked regionally by Soccerbuzz at the no. 7th spot, ahead of fellow conference members James Madison (no. 9), William and Mary (no. 11), and Delaware (no.12). The Lady Monarchs are now tied for sixth place in the conference with George Mason with two crucial games left in the regular season. The top six teams will be eligible to compete in the CAA conference tournament November 1-7.
