Old Dominion Hosts Corporate Sailing Challenge

NORFOLK, VA. (Sept. 15) - Old Dominion University Sailing program will host their 2000 Corporate Sailing Challenge to benefit the Varsity Sailing team. This unique fund raising regatta allows corporations and sponsor teams to compete in a collegiate style regatta utilizing the sailing team's fleet of 14-foot flying Junior racing sailboats.

The regatta will begin with a skippers meeting at 1:00 p.m. with racing to commence at 2 p.m. All races will be sailed on a short triangular course off the University's Elizabeth River waterfront. The Monarchs coed sailing team is currently ranked fifth nationally by SAILING WORLD magazine while the women's squad is ranked sixth nationally. The teams scheduled to compete in this year's Corporate Sailing Challenge are:
