NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion University women's basketball team made fleece blankets recently and today, delivered them and spent time with some patients at the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in downtown Norfolk. The Lady Monarchs had a chance to meet several children, delivering the homemade blankets and sharing experiences. CHKD provides excellence in quality and service and is a regional leader among quality children's health services.

The hospital is Virginia's only free-standing, full-service pediatric hospital. The non-profit organization traces its roots to 1896 and offers pediatric primary care as well as specialty services to sick children in the greater Hampton Roads area.

Below is a photo of three Lady Monarchs with one of the patients at CHKD.
