Richmond, Va. -- For the first time this season, an Old Dominion women's lacrosse player has been named Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week. For this week beginning March 26, sophomore midfielder Suzanne Wosczyna has been honored by the conference office.

This past week, Wosczyna averaged four goals over a three-game span that saw the 16th-ranked Lady Monarchs go 2-1 with both wins coming in conference play. She was a main ingredient in her team's ability to net 37 goals over the home stand.

Against George Mason, the Phoenixville, Pa. native tossed in five goals and one assist to lead the Lady Monarchs to their first CAA victory of the year. Later in the week, the midfielder struck five more times and added another assist as ODU fell to six-time national champion Maryland. Wosczyna closed out her week with a third five-goal performance in the win over American.

Wosczyna leads Old Dominion in scoring with 32 points on 27 goals - all this after sitting out last season with a stress fracture in her foot.

The Lady Monarchs are currently 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the CAA. They will travel to Richmond tomorrow and then take on Loyola (Saturday) and UMBC (Sunday) in two road games this weekend.
