Monarchs Host Longwood Tonight

The Old Dominion University Monarchs (9-1) host Longwood University Lancers (1-11) tonight at 7 p.m. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

ODU sophomore Arnaud Dahi was named CAA Player of the Week today and the Monarchs moved up to fifth in the latest Midmajor top 25.

This is the first meeting between the two teams. Longwood is an NCAA Division I independent. The Lancers are led in scoring by 6-3 Michael Jefferson at 13.8 points, followed by 6-5 Maurice Sumter at 11.6 and 6-6 Lamar Barrett at 10.8. Longwood won their first game Saturday night with a 75-69 win over Howard.

The Monarchs are off to their best start in Division I history and best overall start since the 1969-70 season. ODU defeated two-time defending Southern COnference Champion East Tennessee State, 86-65 Saturday night as Arnaud Dahi and Alex Loughton each scored 17 points followed by Isaiah Hunter with 16.

ODU hosts Saint Joseph's Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
