A Look Back: Week 12 - Bye Week
After 11 straight weeks of competition, the Monarchs were finally able to take a break with its Bye Week occurring in the final week of the regular season. It gave Old Dominion time for much needed rest after a highly competitive slate that saw the Monarchs go 9-2 overall and 6-2 in the CAA and also gave ODU time to prepare for its first-ever playoff appearance.

A Look Ahead: Week 12 - James Madison
The JMU Dukes, who finished the season ranked 17th in the nation, are coming off a solid 2011 campaign in which they finished the season at 7-4, earning their tenth playoff appearance in school history. The Dukes defeated their first round opponent Eastern Kentucky with a last-second field goal to advance to the second round against No. 2 seed North Dakota State. JMU was defeated 26-24 after being held under 100 yards rushing for just the second-time all season. The Dukes return six All-CAA selections for the 2012 season. Redshirt junior offensive lineman Earl Watford and redshirt sophomore linebacker Stephon Robertson both earned First Team All-CAA selections and will be leading the Dukes next season. Stellar redshirt-sophomore running back Dae'Quan Scott (Second Team All-CAA) will be looking to build off of his impressive performance this season in which he rushed for 1355 yards, averaging 5.5 yards per carry and 100.3 yards per game, and 12 touchdowns. Old Dominion took the victory in the first ever match-up giving the Monarchs its first-ever top-10 victory.
