Women's Soccer Slated to Finish 8th in CAA in Preseason Poll

RICHMOND, VA (August 12, 2004) -The Old Dominion University women's soccer team was picked to finish 8th in the Colonial Athletic Association, as voted by the league's 10 women's soccer coaches in the women's soccer pre-season coaches poll. William & Mary, who won the CAA Championship last season, has been picked to finish first.
The Lady Monarchs, who finished 3-9-5 in 2003 after an injury-plagued season, received 25 points to tie with Towson. William & Mary, the winner of last year's CAA Championship, was picked to finish first, with 75 points, just ahead of VCU, with 74 points. The Rams, however, received one more first-place vote.
The Lady Monarchs kick off preseason action next Wednesday, August 18, taking on East Carolina at 7:00 PM. ODU opens up their regular season at home, Friday, August 27, taking the field against UNC-Greensboro. Game-time is at 7:00 PM.
