Oct. 15, 2002
Forward Kim Snyder (Va. Beach, VA) was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week on Monday as she scored her third goal of the year and notched her first career assist in ODU's 2-1 win over UNC-Wilmington on Sunday.
Snyder snapped a 1-1 tie when she netted a goal with just over three minutes left in the game. She also recorded her first assist on the year on a first half goal by Ashley Kramer (Jefferson Hills, PA). The freshman tallied her first two career goals in a game against Arkansas earlier in the year. She now stands fourth on the team with seven points and tied for third with three goals.
Snyder joined ODU after a standout career at Tallwood High School in Va. Beach, VA. At Tallwood Snyder became the all-time career scoring leader in the Beach District with 76 goals. She was chosen to the VIRGINIAN PILOT'S All-Tidewater team after being selected All-District and All-Conference.
The Lady Monarchs (3-8-1/1-2-1) will conclude a five-game road trip on Wednesday when they travel to Radford for a non-conference matchup at 4:00 p.m. They return home this weekend to host Hofstra on Friday and Drexel on Sunday in league action.
