ODU Hosts Mt. Olive In Exhibition Opener at 6 p.m. Wednesday

The Old Dominion University Monarchs host Mt. Olive College Wednesday night at 6 p.m. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center in an exhibition contest. The Lady Monarchs will play Shaw in an exhibition match approximately 30 minutes following the men's game.

The Monarchs return seven letterwinners from last year's 24-9 squad that finished second in the CAA and earned an atlarge bid to the NCAA tournament.

ODU is a pre-season third place pick in the CAA and ranked tenth in the Collegiateinsider Mid-Major top 25 pre-season poll.

Mt. Olive College (Mt. Olive, NC.) is pre-season picked second in the Carolinas Conference and have gotten honorable mention votes for the Division II pre-season poll. Kendrick Easley, son of NFL great Kenny Easley is a pre-season All-American selection. The 6-1 guard out of Brewster Academy averaged 14.8 points per game, dished out 102 assists and shot 72.2 points per from the free throw line. Also returning for Mt Olive is leading scorer Elton Coffield who averaged 16.2 points per game. The Trojans were 23-8 last year.

ODU will have one more exhibition on Nov. 5 against Shepherd University from West Virginia at 7 p.m. in the Constant Convocation Center.
