NORFOLK, VA  -The #4 Old Dominion men's soccer team will host the preseason #3 North Carolina Tar Heels Tuesday night at the ODU Soccer Stadium.  Game time is at 7:00 PM.  ODU comes into the game with a 4-0-0 record after the Monarchs' scheduled game against UMBC on Saturday was cancelled due to the heavy rains in the Mid-Atlantic area.  The Monarchs are ranked #4 in the College Soccer News poll, #6 in the NSCAA coaches poll, #10 in the Soccer Times poll and #24 in the Soccer America poll.  North Carolina, picked by the coaches to win the ACC title this year, is 1-2-2.

ODU is 2-4-1 all-time against North Carolina, dropping three straight in the series.  The last game was in 2001, when the Monarchs dropped a 2-0 decision in Chapel Hill.

The Tar Heels, ranked #3 in the College Soccer News preseason poll, is 1-2-2, last tying UNC-Wilmington 0-0 last Wednesday night in Chapel Hill.  North Carolina dropped both games at their Nike Carolina Classic, including a 5-2 loss at the hands of VCU.  The Tar Heels are led by Sophomore Forward Corey Ashe, a Virginia Beach native, who was named ACC Co-Player of the Week and was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week, along with Kevon Harris, September 6.
