Loyola Defeats Old Dominion, 10-7

BALTIMORE, Md. - Loyola's Stacey Morlang tied a career-high six goals as the Greyhounds came back from a three-goal first-half deficit to defeat 16th-ranked Old Dominion, 10-7, and win their sixth straight game today at Curley Field.

The Greyhounds trailed 3-0 at halftime, but used two second-half goals from Morlang and a Krissy Warnock score to tie the game at 4-4 with 18:46 remaining. Warnock then took a feed from Danielle Battersby three minutes later to give Loyola its first lead of the game. Morlang then scored four consecutive goals within five minutes to put the Greyhounds ahead 10-4.

The Loyola defense and goalie Tricia Dabrowski (eight saves) held the Lady Monarchs scoreless for a 19-minute span in the second half before Suzanne Wosczyna score three goals with five minutes remaining for a final score of 10-7.

Wosczyna led the Lady Monarchs with three goals, while Jennifer Heister had two goals and an assist. Goalie Laurie Koller had eight saves as the Greyhounds outshot Old Dominion by a 26-22 count.

Morlang finished the game with six goals and two assists for Loyola. Warnock added two and Battersby and Peck each had one.

Loyola is now 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and returns to action Wednesday, April 4 hosting conference opponent George Mason at 4 p.m.
