Lauren Timby and Patrik Balint Earn CAA Swimming Performer of the Week Awards

RICHMOND, VA -The Old Dominion men's and women's swimming teams both earned Colonial Athletic Association Performer of the Week awards on Tuesday, as Lauren Timby (Rochester, NY) and Patrik Balint (Budapest, Hungary) both received the award.
Lauren Timby earned her second swimmer of the week award as she won three individual events in a pod meet with American and Howard. She took the 1000 freestyle in 10:16:85, the 200 freestyle in 1:55.28 and the 500 freestyle in 5:05.60. Timby also won three individual events against JMU, taking the 1000 freestyle in 10:32.89, the 200 freestyle in 1:53.58 and the 500 freestyle in 5:07.28. The Lady Monarchs went 2-1 during the weekend, defeating American 110-95 and Howard 88-64 before falling to JMU 128-100.
Patrik Balint captured his first swimmer of the week honor as he won two individual events in wins against American and Howard, taking the 200 freestyle (1:43.54) and the 100 freestyle (4:49.53). Balint was also part of the winning 200 Medley Relay team (1:36.63). In the Monarchs' win against JMU, Balint won the 200 Individual Medley (1:54.77) and the 200 backstroke (1:50.33).
