Soccer Monarchs Travel To Virginia For Exhibition Match Tuesday Night

NORFOLK, VA. - The Old Dominion University men's soccer team will kick-off the 2003 season with an exhibition match at the University of Virginia Tuesday night at Klockner Stadium in Charlottesville, Va. Kick-off is 7 p.m. This is the first of two exhibition matches, ODU will travel to North Carolina on Aug. 23rd.
The Monarchs are pre-season picked second in the CAA, while Virginia has been picked by the ACC coaches to finish third. ODU has six starters back, including two-time CAA Player of the Year Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia), who is already the school's career leader in goals (46), and points (108). Also back is two-time All-CAA defender Trevor McEachron (Woodbridge, VA.) and senior goalkeeper Sam Cameron (Raleigh, NC.).
The Monarchs open the regular season on Aug. 29 when they host St. Francis(Pa.).
