The Old Dominion women's soccer team lost 5-2 to Arkansas (2-6/0-0) on Friday despite a two-goal effort by freshman Kim Snyder (Va. Beach, VA).

The Lady Razorbacks jumped out to a 2-0 lead before ODU could counter and then never looked back. Kelle Bedient scored the first two goals for Arkansas with the first one coming 17 minutes in when she netted a rebound off the keeper. She was also credited with a goal at 25:44 when Monarch goalie Kristen Bailey (Hamilton, VA) inadvertently trapped the ball against the post allowing the ball to cross the plane of the goal line.

Snyder would then get the first of her two tallies at 34:28 to cut the lead in half. She was able to control her own rebound off a shot from a corner kick and send it pass the goalie into the right corner. However, Arkansas held off several Monarch runs and would go into the half up 2-1.

Despite an enthusiastic start to second period for the Lady Monarchs, UA would again get two goals before ODU could respond. Julie Williford and Melissa Dziubinski would put the Razorbacks ahead by three at 4-1. Snyder would have one answer with her second goal off a deflected indirect kick but it wouldn't be enough. Crystal Test, who finished with three points, would add another insurance goal with a header at 80:15.

ODU held a 6-1 corner kick advantage but was called offsides seven times to UA's two.

The Lady Monarchs will be in action again on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. to host American.
