ODU/Outerbanks Collegiate Golf Tournament Begins Sunday

NORFOLK, VA--The first annual ODU/Outerbanks Collegiate Golf Tournament begins Sunday, Oct. 24th with an 18-team field at the par 72, 6535 yard Kilmarlic Golf Course in Powells Point, NC.
The Monarchs will be joined by Delaware, Drexel, East Carolina, Elon, Furman, George Mason, Hartford, James Madison, Liberty, Longwood, Louisville, Radford, Richmond, St. Joseph's, Towson, William & Mary, and Winthrop.
The Monarchs are fresh off winning the William and Mary Joe Agee Invitational as freshman James Brockington was named CAA Co-Golfer of the Week, sharing the honor with Towson Nyasha Mauchaza. The two tied for the Joe Agee title (72-69=141). ODU shot 578 to win the team title by four shots. ODU also finished 10th at Maryland Intercollegiate.
Delaware's Justin martinson earned CAA Men's Golfer of the Week after winning Seton Hall's Lincoln Mercury intercollegiate. He fired a school-record 64 in one of the rounds. East Carolina will be led by Conference USA Golfer of the Week David Watkins. The junior tied for fifth at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate.
Junior Matt Broome of Furman won the Big 5 Invitational Title after shooting 133 for 36 holes. Hartford's Matt Smith won the Shelter Harbor title in a playoff while JMU's Ryan Vince tied for third at the Richmond Intercollegiate. In that UR tournament Liberty's Ian McConnell took first with a 209 for 54 holes, two strokes better than Sam Beach of Richmond and Michael Young of Longwood.
