MANHEIM, Pa. - The National Wrestling Coaches Association and its media web site, InterMat, have ranked Old Dominion senior Christian Staylor (Chesapeake, Va.) 18th at 125 pounds in its preseason Division I rankings released this week.

Staylor, a two-time NCAA Tournament qualifier, enters the 2006-07 season having complied a 59-23 career record. During the 2004-05 season, Staylor won the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championship at 125 pounds and was ranked 15th nationally by Amateur Wrestling News and 16th by InterMat. Additionally, he placed first at the Virginia Intercollegiate State Tournament, second at the Carolina Open, and third at both the Mat Town USA and Missourin Open tournaments.

Four future Monarch dual meet opponents were featured in the preseason team rankings. Old Dominion will take on No. 3 Missouri on February 14th, and also face CAA rivals #11 Hofstra. Rider, another fellow CAA member, and Northern Iowa were receiving votes.
