Monarchs In 6th Place at MAISA Sloops

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Monarch sailors are in 6th place, just 14 points out of 2nd headed into Sunday at the MAISA Sloops regatta. Senior Michael Collins was skipper with sophomore crew Wilson Stout and Kevin Shockey in the only sloops racing ODU enters every year.

After seven races, Old Dominion has compiled 41 points in the first seven races of the regatta at the Naval Academy. The racing has been very tight, with places 2-10 being decided by just 32 points. St. Mary's holds a commanding lead with 11 points.

ODU was right in the middle of the fleet for most of day one, finishing with five top five finishes in the seven completed races.
