Norfolk, VA-Old Dominion freshman midfielder Maura Linz has been named the CAA Rookie of the Year and four Lady Monarchs have earned spots on the 2001 All-CAA Women's Soccer Team.

Linz, a freshman from Prospect, KY, cracked the starting lineup right away this season and chipped in one goal to go along with three assists. Linz played in all 16 games with 14 starts, more than any other freshman on the senior-laden team.

Joining Linz on the All-CAA team are seniors Jen Henley (Chalfont, PA), Andi Rowe (Fairfax, VA) and Tonya Dedmond (North Potomac, MD), who were all first team selections. Henley, the 2000 CAA Co-Player of the Year, led the conference in assists and was third in total scoring. Rowe is making her third appearance on the All-CAA team and Dedmond makes her debut as the first team goalkeeper.
