FAIRFAX, Va. - Old Dominion University women's basketball opens CAA play Sunday when they travel to George Mason to take on the Patriots at 2 p.m.

Old Dominion is 1-7 on the year, with their win coming in the first game of the Paradise Jam Tournament over eventual tournament champion, Alabama. The Lady Monarchs are coming off a tough 58-52 overtime setback at George Washington, and round out their season long five-game road swing on Sunday.

George Mason is 5-1 on the year, losing their opener to American, and having won their last five-straight, including an 55-52 win over UMASS Thursday night.

Senior Tia Lewis has had three-straight double-doubles and leads ODU with 16.9 points and nine rebounds per game. Freshman Ashley Betz-White has twice been named CAA Freshman of the Week, averages 10.3 points a game while Shakeva Richards has 66 points this year, already six more than all of last season.

Mason is led by senior Taleia Moton who is second in the CAA with 23.8 points a game. She has three 30-point games already this season, including a career-best 32 in the win over UMASS. Amber Easter is second on the team with 11.8 points a game.

ODU opens a three game homestand starting Wednesday, Dec. 7 when they host Wofford at 7 p.m.
