NORFOLK, VA (Oct. 16, 2000) -- Freshman forward Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia) has been named the CAA player of the week for his performances against William & Mary and American University. Against the Tribe, Vendegh scored on a direct kick in what would prove to be the only goal of the game, a 1-0 decision for the Monarchs. On Sunday, Vendegh turned in a two-goal performance against the Eagles in the Monarch's 3-2 overtime win.

Attila currently leads the team in scoring with 9 goals and 2 assists for 20 points. He is ranked third in the CAA in scoring and is a major reason why the Monarchs are still undefeated (5-0) in conference play. Vendegh is responsible for 6 of the Monarchs 13 goals in conference competition, and has netted 3 game-winners. Attila is also ranked 9th in total points and 5th in goals scored in the South Atlantic Region. Old Dominion is currently 7-4-1, 5-0 CAA. They are ranked first in the CAA and 4th in the South Atlantic Region. The Monarchs have compiled a 12-1 record in the CAA over the last two seasons, with their only blemish a loss at Richmond last year.
