James Madison Holds Off Lady Monarchs, 9-6

HARRISONBURG, VA. -- Junior Kristen Dinisio and Lisa Staedt each scored two goals to lead fifth-ranked and undefeated James Madison to a 9-6 win over 16th ranked Old Dominion Wednesday afternoon. ODU is now 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the CAA. JMU is 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the CAA.

JMU led 5-0 at halftime and were up 7-0 before the Lady Monarchs came storming back started by a goal by Stephanie Smoot with 19:17 left in the game. Daniel Hensil scored a minute later to cut it to 7-2. After a Chrssy Monahan goal at the 14:48 mark made it 8-2, ODU scored four straight goals, two by Suzanne Wosczyna along with single goals from Jennifer Heister and Dana Wisniewski.

The Dukes scored one more goal to finish the scoring at 9-6. Lady Monarch goalie Kaurie Koller came up with seven saves.

Old Dominion returns to action on Sunday when they travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on Temple at 12 noon.
