John Waller Named CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, VA-- Old Dominion University senior guard John Waller (Richmond, VA.)was named by the Colonial Athletic Association as the Player of the Week. The 6-4 Waller avearged 23.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in ODU's victories over Liberty and George Washington.

The senior guard tallied a career-high 24 points on 11-of-16 FG shooting, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals against Liberty, and then scored 23 points on 9-of-15 FG shooting and pulled down five boards versus George Washington. Waller drained 5-of- 8 from three-point range against GW, including a trey that put ahead 42-40 with 16:50 to go after starting the game in a 14-1 hole. Waller had seven points and three rebounds in the Monarchs loss at South Alabama earlier in the week.

He is the second Monarch to earn this honor thus far this year. Center Alex Loughton (Perth, Australia) was named on Dec. 15.
