Lady Monarchs Host Northeastern and Hofstra This Weekend

NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Lady Monarchs (9-1/1-1) return home this weekend to host Northeastern (6-2-1/2-0) Friday night at 7 p.m. and Hofstra (6-3-1/2-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Northeastern shutout both George Mason and Towson last weekend. Huskies goalkeeper Annie Petrofsky is fourth in the CAA in goals against average at 0.87 and saves per game at 5.11.

Hofstra is led by CAA Player of the Week Marie Curtin. The Junior midfielder scored three goals last weekend against Towson and GMU. She ranks third in the CAA in points with 13 and fifth in goals with five.

The Lady Monarchs are led in scoring by the CAA's one-two punch of Shavon Knight and Katie Watson. Watson leads the CAA in goals scored with nine, while Knight leads in total points with 21.

Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Tupman still leads the CAA in goals against average at 0.60 and is tied with Northeastern's Petrofsky with five shutouts. Tupman injured a foot in the first half of the Delaware game last weekend and did not play against Drexel. Last year's starting goalkeeper ,sophomore Colby Owen played the second half of Delaware and the entire Drexel match in goal.
