Monarchs Defeated By William And Mary In Women's Tennis

RICHMOND, Va. (April 17) -- Top-seeded William and Mary defeated the number 4 seed, Old Dominion, 5-1 in the semi-finals of the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Tennis Tournament. The Tribe will now face the number three seed, Richmond Spiders to crown a champion in Women's Tennis.

William and Mary received wins in the numbers two, four, five, and six singles matches to bring home the victory over Old Dominion. Tari Ann Toro (Miami, FL) won in straight sets over ODU's Luciana Araujo (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) 6-1, 6-3. Delphine Troch (Brussels, Belgium) won her number four singles match over Iva Beli (Zagreb, Croatia) by default. Lindsay Sullivan (Boca Raton, FL) and Jessyca Arthur (Klamath Falls, OR) also won in straight sets (Sullivan 6-0 6-3 and Arthur 6-0 6-0) to round out the scoring for the Tribe.

William and Mary will face the Richmond Siders tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. at Byrd Park in the championship match.
