Bazemore Named CAA Player Of the Week

RICHMOND, VA-- ODU senior guard Kent Bazemore (Kelford, NC.) has been named CAA Player Of the Week. He averaged 21.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals in Old Dominion's 2-0 week.

Bazemore scored a career-high 27 points and tied a career-high with 12 rebounds in ODU's 68-66 overtime win at Delaware. He scored 9 of the Monarchs' 11 points in overtime and hit the game-tying free throws with 2 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. He also contributed 16 points and four assists in a 69-61 victory over Hofstra.

Bazemore leads the Monarchs in scoring at 14.6 points and ranks second in the CAA and 18th nationally in steals at 2.4 per game. He is also averaging 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

Thus far, Bazemore has sent three games into overtime with the last shot in regulation. His trey against Richmond, his jumper in the lane at JMU and the two free throws at Delaware.

The Monarchs travel to Towson for a Wednesday night game at 7 p.m.
