No. 25 ODU to Host No. 7 Central Michigan Sunday

NORFOLK, Va. - The No. 25 Old Dominion wrestling Monarchs look to remain unbeaten at home as they welcome in No. 7 Central Michigan to the Ted Constant Convocation Center Sunday at 5:30.

The dual will follow the Old Dominion/Hofstra women's basketball game which is set to tip at 2 p.m. All fans that come to the women's basketball game and stay, get their wrestling ticket for free.

All other fans can purchase tickets for $6 and all military, senior citizens, youth and faculty/staff get a discounted rate of $5.

The Monarchs are a perfect 4-0 at the Constant Center this season and are coming off a 19-16 home win last Sunday over Bucknell.

The Monarchs enter this weekend's action with three wrestlers ranked in the Top 15 nationally. Junior James Nicholson is ranked No. 3 by WIN and No. 7 by Intermat.

Seniors Chris Brown (No. 14) and Jesse Strawn (No. 13) have also been performing well as of late. Each wrestler has totaled a team-high 25 victories this season.

Nicholson leads the team in technical falls (4), Strawn has registered the most pins (10) and Brown tops all Monarchs in major decisions (8).

Central Michigan enters action this weekend with a 10-2 overall mark. The Chippewas have won their last two duals by a combined score of 67-9. CMU opened MAC competition with a 34-3 win at Eastern Michigan last Thursday.

The Chippewas have eight wrestlers ranked in the Top 20 nationally in their respective weight classes, led by No. 3 Jarod Trice at heavyweight. At 125-pounds, CMU will send No. 9 Matt Steintrager against ODU's James Nicholson. Steintrager enters the weekend 14-2 overall.
