NORFOLK, Va. -- Redshirt freshman wide receiver Antonio Vaughan (Ahoskie, N.C.) was rewarded for his impressive Monarch debut against Campbell last Saturday by being named CAA Football's Rookie of the Week.

Vaughan finished his Monarch debut, a 41-14 win for Old Dominion over Campbell in the season-opener, with 191 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns. He hauled in six catches for 97 yards, including a 34-yard second-quarter touchdown pass from Thomas DeMarco. Vaughan later showed his ground skills by scampering 30 yards to paydirt in the third quarter, boosting the ODU lead to 38-7. The CAA Football Rookie of the Week was also effective in the Monarchs' return game posting a 16-yard punt return and two kickoff returns for 48 yards.

Old Dominion, playing in its first season in the CAA, returns to action on Saturday at Georgia State, a team which will join the league in 2012. Kick-off is slated for noon at the Georgia Dome. The game will also be televised by Comcast Sports Network with Bob Neal and Cole Cubelic on the call.
