ANNAPOLIS, MD-- Former ODU three-time sailing All-American Sally Barkow(Nashotah, WIS.ODU'02) and her crew of Debbie Capozzi (Bayport, NY-'03), Carrie Howe and Annie Lush won the US Sailing's 2003 Rolex International Women's Keelboat Championship, the most prestigious women's sailing regatta.

"It feels awesome to have won," said the 23-year old Barkow, who only started sailing keelboats one and a half years ago. "We approached the last day with confidence just like we did every other day. We learned a ton here, from communications, to boat handling to mentally focusing. It was a big step for our campaign."
Coming into the final day of racing, Barkow's team held a 20-point lead over the 66 teams in light 8-10 knot breezes, the foursome once again showed command of their boathand and the scoreboard, with finishes of 3 and eight.
