NORFOLK, VA  -The #25 Old Dominion men's soccer team will host a pair of key Colonial Athletic Association games this weekend, taking on unbeaten #9 James Madison Friday night at 7:00 and George Mason Sunday afternoon at 2:30.  Both games will be the second part of a double-header with the women's soccer team.  JMU will come to Norfolk with a 12-0-1 record, one of only two unbeaten teams in the country (UNC-Greensboro 12-0-1).  The Monarchs, ranked #25 by College Soccer News, have a 8-3-2 overall record and a 3-2-1 CAA mark.  ODU has a 22-game home unbeaten streak on the line this weekend, and have won 18 straight home contests, dating back to the 2002 season.

Ninth-ranked James Madison is off to their best start since the 1993 season, when they got off to a 16-0-1 start.  The Dukes, currently 4-0-0 in the CAA, will begin a five CAA road swing Friday night, to end their season.  JMU ended their home schedule with a 8-0-1 mark.  JMU is led by Junior Defender Danny Sheridan, who was selected as the ECAC Division I Player of the Week and was chosen to Soccer America's national team of the week on Oct. 13.  Sheridan was also named to the national team of the week by College Soccer News and was the CAA Player of the Week on Oct. 11.  The Dukes are led in scoring by Sophomore Midfielder/Defender Kurt Morsink, with 20 points (eight goals, four assists).  A stingy JMU defense has not allowed more than one goal in any game this season and have allowed only eight goals in 13 games.  JMU is coming off a 4-0 win over Howard in Harrisonburg.

Last season, the #2 Monarchs took a 14-0-0 record into Harrisonburg, dropping a 3-2 decision.  ODU is 8-16-4 all-time against the Dukes and hasn't defeated JMU since the 1999 season.  The Monarchs tied JMU in 2001 and 2002.  The last time the Monarchs haven't won at home was against the Dukes, in the 2002 season, when the two teams tied 1-1.

George Mason is currently 6-7-1 overall, with a 2-2-0 CAA mark.  ODU has a 9-15-1 record against the Patriots and dropped both meetings in 2003.  The Monarchs lost a 1-0 decision in Fairfax, VA, before losing another 1-0 game in the CAA Tournament Semifinals in Richmond.  The Patriots have dropped four consecutive games.  George Mason is led in scoring by Junior Forward Teba McKnight, with 19 points (seven goals, five assists).  Goalkeeper John O'Hara has a 1.17 Goals Against Average.

Monarch defender Trevor McEachron (Woodbridge, VA) suffered his season-ending knee injury against George Mason in Fairfax last season.

The Monarchs are unbeaten in their last four games, going 3-0-1 during that stretch.  ODU defeated Drexel 1-0 and Hofstra 2-0 at the ODU Soccer Stadium two weeks ago before going 1-0-1 in the road last weekend, tying Towson 2-2 and defeating Delaware 3-2 in double-overtime.  ODU, 3-2-1 in the CAA, sits in third place behind VCU and James Madison.  ODU is led in scoring by Senior Midfielder Kevon Harris (Kingston, Jamaica), with 12 points (four goals, four assists).  Goalkeeper John Connelly (Rockville, MD) has five shutouts on the year, and is one of six CAA goalkeepers that has a Goals Against Average of less than 1.00.

After this weekend, the Monarchs will have two games remaining on the schedule.  ODU travels to Charlottesville, VA Wednesday, October 27, to take on #2 Virginia at 7:30, before ending their regular season at home Saturday, November 6, taking on regional rival William & Mary at 7:00.  The top six teams in the CAA qualify for the CAA Tournament, November 9, 12 and 14.
