Lady Monarch Alumni Return To The Field

Several alumni of the Lady Monarch women's lacrosse team reunited in September at the first annual National Lacrosse Alumni Challenge in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The tournament reunited over 600 lacrosse players with their former teammates, featured 28 men's and women's alumni teams, which included Major League Lacrosse All-Stars and members of both the men's and women's national teams.
On the women's side, Old Dominion was one of eight women's teams to take part in the first annual event. Other teams that joined the Lady Monarchs on the field included Hofstra, William & Mary, Maryland, James Madison, Dartmouth, Virginia, and Loyola.
The Lady Monarchs were represented by several classes, which spanned nearly 13 years of Old Dominion women's lacrosse. Old Dominion and U.S. National Team head coach Sue Stahl was also on hand as she watched her former student-athletes advance to the tournament's semifinals.
Former Lady Monarchs who returned to the field included All-Americans Carly Brown and Ericka Davidheiser and All-CAA members Danielle Hensil and Heather Walden Holt. Also making an appearance was ODU's fifth all-time leading scorer in Jennifer Heister and ODU's assist leader from 1991-1993 in Amy Cordes O'Neill.
