Monarchs Win NY Maritime Open/ Finish Third At Tom Curtis

Bronx, NY-The Old Dominion sailing team swept both divisions en route to a dominating victory over 16 other teams at the New York Maritime Open this weekend.

The tandem of Brad Funk (Harbor Bluffs, FL) and Liz Bower (Fairport, NY) won A division, and teammates Jack Kerr (Seattle, WA) and Bill Berg (Longwood, FL) took first place honors in B division.

In Washington, D.C., the Monarchs placed third in the Tom Curtis Open behind host Georgetown and St. Mary's College. Ryan Thorvaldsen (Sayville, NY) and Cara Gibbons-Neff (Annapolis, MD) were second in A division while teammates Ignacio Saralegui (Montevideo, Uruguay) and Rachel Wright (Rochester, NY) were third in B division.
