Lady Monarchs Rout UNC-Wilmington, 85-55

    Norfolk, Va. (Feb. 11) -- Lucienne Berthieu (Rennes, France) scored 20 points to lead Old Dominion as the Lady Monarchs defeated UNC Wilmington 85-55 at the Old Dominion Fieldhouse on February 11. The Lady Monarchs (17-4, 10-0 CAA) continued their Colonial Athletic Association conference winning streak with their 93rd win.

    Berthieu had her 10th double-double of the season, scoring 20 points and pulling down a game high 10 rebounds. Old Dominion continued its full court press into the second half forcing the Seahawks (13-8, 6-4 CAA) to commit 33 turnovers.

    Freshman guard Okeisha Howard (Virginia Beach, Va.) came off the bench to score 17 points and back court mate Natalie Diaz (Needles, Calif.) scored 14. The Lady Monarchs led going into the second half 48-25 and the Seahawks never recovered. Chandra Watkins led UNC Wilmington with 14 points and Katy Walters had 12.

    The Old Dominion Lady Monarchs will be back in action Sunday as the host American with a 2 pm tipoff.
