NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion Wrestling Monarchs will have their first home match of the 2009-10 season as they welcome Purdue, UNC Greensboro and Rider Sunday for a quad meet at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

The meet will begin at 11 a.m. with the Monarchs taking on UNC Greensboro. Rider and Purdue will battle on the other mat. The 1 p.m. matchups pit ODU against Purdue and Rider against UNC Greensboro. The final bouts will get under way at 3 p.m. with the Monarchs taking on the Broncs and the Boilermakers grappling with the Spartans.

Old Dominion, ranked No. 24 in the latest NWCA/USA Today Division I Coaches Poll, is coming off a 15th place finish at the Southern Scuffles. Senior's Jesse Strawn and Chris Brown each placed for ODU.

Strawn went 6-2 overall to finish in fifth-place. The senior was also honored at the end of the event with the Gregorian Award, which is given to the wrestler with the most pins in the least amount of time. Strawn had five falls in 18:36.

Brown finished sixth in the event with all of his losses coming against nationally ranked foes.

At last year's ODU quad, the Monarchs went a perfect 3-0. Last year's field also included Purdue and UNC Greensboro. ODU topped Purdue, 22-12, and upended UNCG 33-6.
