UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. (April 22) - The No. 16 Penn State women's lacrosse team (7-8) scored 10 second-half goals as it came from behind to defeat Old Dominion (5-11) 15-13 Saturday afternoon at Jeffrey Field.

Senior Julie Tice had six assists and moved into a tie for first place on Penn State's all-time assist chart with 109 career dishes. Tice is tied up with Marsha Florio, who is also Penn State's career leader in points and goals. Tice's record-tying assist on B.J. Lucey's goal with 8:05 to play tied a contest the Lady Monarchs led for much of the way.

After the Lions jumped out to an early 3-1 lead, Old Dominion went on a six-goal run to open up a 7-3 advantage. Jennifer Heister, who led the Lady Monarchs with four goals, scored twice during the spurt. Penn State was able to cut the deficit to three at the break courtesy of late first-half goals by Lucey and Jenn Webb sandwiched between a Dana Wisniewski tally for ODU.

Penn State scored the first two goals of the second half, but Old Dominion quickly regained their halftime advantage with two goals in a 60-second span. The teams then traded goals until Lucey got Penn State's game-deciding run underway by scoring with 11:07 to play to bring the Lions within two.

A Colleen O'Hara goal and Lucey's fourth tally tied the score at 12 with 8:05 to play. Then Christine Kenney gave the Lions their first lead since early in the first half with 5:51 to play. Webb, who had six points on the day (5g, 1a), scored what proved to be the game winner with 1:29 remaining. Lucey then scored her fifth goal of the day with 49 seconds to play before Danielle Hensil tallied for the Lady Monarchs to close the scoring.

Tice led Penn State with eight points (2g, 6a) and Lucey and Webb each had five goals. Kenney added a pair of goals and O'Hara had three points (1g, 2a). Heister's four goals paced the Lady Monarchs and Hensil and Dana Wisniewski each had three goals.
