NORFOLK, VA -- Old Dominion swimming and diving heads up to Fairfax, Virginia for their final meet before the CAA Championships in mid-February. American University, Army, and George Mason are the opponents set for Saturday's action.
Junior backstroke specialist Patrik Balint broke his own school record in the 100-yard backstroke last weekend against James Madison. He and senior Tyler Haverty have led the men's team all season long and both are coming off impressive performances in Harrisonburg. Peter Stickl has consistently gotten better off the diving board all season long under new head dive coach Todd Kolean.
The women have been paced by junior captain Diana Hurst and sophomore breaststroke specialist Jennifer Sargent this season. Sargent swept the breaststroke events last weekend and has performed well in the individual medley all season long. Hurst won the 100 butterfly last weekend and continues to swim well in the distance events as well. Sophomore Jasmine Moore leads the women's dive team.
Coach Carol Withus earned her 100th career women's team win earlier this season when the team defeated George Washington University. She is just eight wins shy of her 100th men's team victory.
