NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team returns to action after a 10-day hiatus to take on the Temple Owls on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa. and Rutgers on Monday at 3:00 p.m. in Piscataway, NJ.

The Lady Monarchs (2-2) are looking to return to the win column after suffering a 7-13 defeat at the hands of Richmond back on March 16th. Currently, Old Dominion is led by sophomore Ashley Stanwick (Aquasco, Md) with 10 goals and two assists, closely followed by fellow classmantes Colleen Carver (Catonsville, Md.) with eight goals and three assists and Caroline Jacobs (Gaitherburg, Md.) with six goals and five assists.

In the national stats, sophomore Katie Veneziale(Downingtown, Pa.) is ranked 15th in draw controls per game. Thus far in the 2005 season the Lady Monarchs' draw control specialist has registered 13, while also leading the team in groundballs with 12.

The Temple Owls enter Saturday's game with a 2-2 record as well coming off an 6-5 upset over #2 Penn State on the Lady Lions home turf. Temple's other win came over Colage in their home opener, while the two losses have come from cross-town rival Penn and #8 North Carolina. The Owls are coached by a familar face, Jennifer Ulehla, who once coached conference rival James Madison.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights will take on #8 Georgetown on Saturday before taking on Old Dominion. Rutgers enters this weekend's competition on a three-game win streak with a 3-2 overall mark. Their most recent was an 18-1 thrashing of Bucknell University. The Scarlet Knights opened the season with two losses, both at the hands of CAA teams, a 8-6 loss to Hofstra and a 12-9 defeat at the hands of Delaware.

The Lady Monarchs will return home to Foreman Field on Friday, April 1st when they open CAA play hosting George Mason at 3:00 p.m.
