PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Kerry Kelly scored six goals off of six shots and tallied three assists to lead Drexel to its first ever CAA win, an 18-7 victory over Old Dominion. Fellow freshman Maggie Koch also had a standout day, earning 19 saves in goal to improve Drexel to 8-3 on the season, 1-2 in the conference. The Monarchs fall to 3-8, 0-4 in the CAA.

Emily Hoesch opened up the scoring for Drexel after taking a feed from Chrissy Sheehan just one minute into the game. ODU's Ashley Stanwick even the score at one with a goal at 26:27, assisted by Caroline Jacobs. Colleen Rocks gave Drexel back the lead, one that they would never relinquish, with an unassisted goal at 24:33. Sheehan added a goal three minutes later, while Kelly scored her first of six at 20:54 to give Drexel a 4-1 lead just 10 minutes into the game. Janine Rodriquez ended Drexel's scoring run with an unassisted goal at 18:42 to make it 4-2 but Hoesch, Rocks and Kelly netted three straight to open up a 7-2 lead. Jacobs gave the Monarchs their third goal at 12:10, but Kelly and Sheehan teamed to score a goal a minute later to let the five goal differential stand. Melody Shotwell put ODU within four one minute later. Kelly then found a streaking Hoesch at 6:23 to make it 9-4 Drexel. Suzanne Wosczyna cut the Dragons' lead back to four, scoring a goal with just two seconds left in the half, but the Monarchs trailed 9-5 at the half.

The second half was all Drexel as the Dragons outscored the Monarchs 9-2. Kelly and Rocks teamed to score the half's first goal at 27:23 and Jen Bonini and Sheehan added a goal two minutes later. Sheehan netted two straight tallies in the next five minutes to make it 13-5 Drexel. Rodriquez finally got ODU on the second-half board with a goal at 22:51 and Wosczyna added a goal at 19:35 but that would be the last time that the Monarchs would see the back of the net. Rocks, Kelly, Caterina Carafides and Nicole Adams would all go on to score goals to lead Drexel to their first ever CAA win.

Michelle Gannon earned four saves in the loss for the Monarchs.
