NORFOLK, Va. -- After receiving votes in two straight weeks, the ODU women's soccer team was hoisted into the National Top 30 according to SOCCER BUZZ MAGAZINE, ranked 28th in the country. ODU jumped to 28 after defeating James Madison in overtime, 2-1, and shutting out VCU, 3-0. It is the first time in program history the Lady Monarchs are ranked nationally by Soccer Buzz, who also list ODU 5th in the regional poll, the highest since 2005.

ODU leads the CAA in a tie with Hofstra atop the standings with 19 points with just three games remaining in the regular season. ODU travels to Towson and George Mason this weekend, then closes the year on the road against William & Mary next Thursday. The team is 13-2-1 this season while posting an unbeaten record at home, going 8-0-1.
