RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (April 14, 2000) -- The fifth-seeded Old Dominion women's tennis team won two of three doubles matches to capture a slim 5-4 win over fourth-seeded American Friday afternoon at the Westhampton Courts on the campus of University of Richmond in the quarterfinal round of the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Tennis Tournament. With the win, the Lady Monarchs improve to 11-10 on the season. They will face top-seed William and Mary Saturday at 1 pm at Byrd Park.
Old Dominion captured the first three singles matches with relative ease but allowed American back into the game with singles wins at #3 through #6. The Lady Monarchs came through in the clutch, winning two of three doubles matches for the victory.
