RICHMOND, Va. - The field is now set for the 2010 CAA Field Hockey Championship, which will be held November 6 and 7 at Drexel's Buckley Field in Philadelphia.

In Saturday's first semifinal game at 12:00 p.m., top-seeded Drexel will take on 4th-seeded VCU, followed by 2nd-seeded Old Dominion against 3rd-seeded Northeastern at 2:30 p.m. The two winners will vie for the CAA championship and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

ODU, currently ranked 19th in the nation, capped off its regular season with a 5-1 victory over William & Mary on Sunday to even its record to 10-10 on the year and wrap up CAA play with a 7-1 mark. The Lady Monarchs, who failed to make the CAA Tournament for the first time in school history last season, enter postseason play having won four straight conference contests and nine of their last 13 games overall.

Drexel blanked 2009 CAA Champion Delaware, 6-0, on Sunday to solidify its right to host the conference championship for the second straight season. The Dragons, who are ranked No. 17 in the latest NFHCA Poll, have now earned a 7-1 record in league play three straight years and have captured back-to-back regular season crowns for the first time in program history. The Dragons have won 11 of their last 12 games and are 9-2 at Buckley Field in 2010.

NU punched its postseason ticket for the first time since 2007 after sophomore forward Nicky Graham netted the game-winner in a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory over VCU on Friday. The Huskies are now 10-10 on the year and have won four of their last five matchups heading into tournament play.

VCU earned its first CAA Tournament bid in seven years with a 4-1 win over William & Mary on Oct. 24. The Rams have rolled to a 13-6 record in 2010, and their 13 wins are the most the team has tallied since 1992. VCU enters the postseason having won 10 of its last 13 games.

Admission to the CAA Championship is $5.00 for adults and free for all youth ages 12 and under. Students from the participating institutions will receive free admission with a college ID.
