Loran Hatch Named CAA Co-Rookie Of The Week

NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion freshman forward Loran Hatch (Green Lane, Pa.) was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Co-Player of the Week for the week ending October 7th. Hatch becomes the second Lady Monarch to earn a CAA weekly award this season.
Hatch tallied two goals in Old Dominion's 2-0 week, helping the Lady Monarchs extend its win streak to seven games and collect five straight shutouts. Hatch posted the game-winner in ODU's 4-0 victory against Hofstra and added in an insurance goal against Drexel with one second remaining in the first half of play. The game-winner against the Pride was her second straight and second of her career.
To date, Hatch has posted five goals and 10 points. She is tied for fourth on the team in points.
The Old Dominion field hockey team will play in two non-conference games this weekend. The Lady Monarchs will travel to No. 2 Maryland on Friday, October 12th and return home to host No. 12/13 Duke on Sunday, October 14th. Old Dominion will be taking on the Terps and Blue Devils for the second time this season. Maryland, the two-time defending national champions, handed ODU a 4-1 loss back on August 31st, while ODU's current win streak began with a 1-0 victory in Durham back on September 16th.
