No. 31 Monarch Tennis Falls To No. 3 Virginia In Second Round NCAA Action

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- As a team, the No. 31 Old Dominion men's tennis squad closed out play of the 2006-07 season with a 4-0 loss to third-ranked Virginia in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.

The season is not completely closed though as both sophomore Harel Srugo (Kibutz Gazit, Israel) and senior Henrique Cancado (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) continue play during the singles and doubles portion of the NCAA Tournament. The first round of singles will begin May 23rd followed by the first round of doubles May 24th.

The loss ends the Monarchs' season at 22-8 in their first NCAA Tournament appearance as a team.

The Cavaliers took the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions and then proceeded to win three of the singles matches to clinch the win.
