Sailing Takes the Polar Plunge

Polar Plunge Project and Spring Preview:
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Several members of the Old Dominion University Sailing team participated in the 2012 Polar Plunge over the weekend at the Virginia Beach oceanfront.
Raising money for the Special Olympics in Virginia, each member of the sailing team was responsible for raising over $100 each. The team collected over $2,000 in total in the event that included a 5k run and a plunge into the Atlantic Ocean on Sunday morning.
The Sailing Monarchs began practice for their spring 2012 practice on Tuesday. Both teams kick off their spring schedule on Feb. 18-19 at the Charleston Intersectional in Charleston, S.C. and the SMC Quad in St. Mary's, Md.
