Lady Monarchs Playing in Arkansas Tournament

NORFOLK, VA - The Old Dominion Women's Soccer team (1-2-0) will play Tulsa and Arkansas this weekend at the Fayetteville Athletic Club Classic tournament in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Lady Monarchs come into the tournament after splitting the games at the N.C. State Tournament, losing to 23rd ranked Villanova and defeating Tulane.
ODU will play Tulsa (3-1-0) Friday, Sept. 12, at 4:30 PM (CST) and will play Arkansas (2-3-0) Sunday, Sept. 14, at 2:30 PM (CST). The Lady Monarchs have never played Tulsa and lost it's only meeting against Arkansas, 5-2, last season in Norfolk. Also playing in the tournament is William & Mary (2-2-0), who comes into the tournament fresh off a 4-0 victory over Liberty. The Tribe previously lost 2-1 to 24th ranked Maryland, where they led until the final 10 minutes of the game, and lost 2-1 to 18th ranked Virginia.
Tulsa lost their previous game to Drury, after previously being undefeated. Danielle Fauteux leads the Golden Hurricane with four goals. Keely Flynn has two assists for the season. Arkansas were last defeated 4-0 by Purdue. Julie Williford leads the Lady Razorbacks with three goals. Blair Miller leads the team in assists.
Tracy Donachie (South Lanarkshire, Scotland) scored the winning goal in the Lady Monarchs' previous game against Tulane. Goalkeeper Stephanie Miller (Plymouth Meeting, PA) earned her first shut-out of the season, making one save. ODU out-shot Tulane 17 to 6 in the effort. Laura Beeman (Chalfont, PA) leads the Lady Monarchs for the season with two goals.
